throwing leaves at Mamie's
Thursday, I took take him to the dentist. Meg really liked the dentist they found here, so instead of looking for a new one, her plan was to bring him back here for his ck ups. Lucky for us, they didn't have any appts. before the baby. He did a great job (I'm not going to let a little screaming and kicking cloud my opinion) and his prize was an "out to eat" and going to the fire station to see Papaw. The next day, Papaw kept him while I went to work. Papaw got the pleasure of taking Reid for his haircut, a job nobody wants. He does a full on Linda Blair when that cape gets on him and it takes 2 people to get it done. Not only that, they can't use scissors. Too much thrashing about! Clippers with a #5 guard buzzed around as fast as possible.
I'm sure you think that we were duped into doing all the cruddy stuff that mom didn't want to be subjected to, and maybe you're right, but we take what we can get! To be able to wake up to "Hey, Mamie!" every morning is worth a dozen trips to the dentist. Hearing "Mamie, cuddle Reid" when he climbs in bed with me after I get him makes even the worst haircut experience seem like nothing at all.
more interested in the hot chocolate than the incredibly realistic tree
After all the bad stuff was taken care of, we picked up J from school and the fun began. We put up the tree and decorated Friday night, dancin' to Christmas carols and drinking hot chocolate. Saturday we went to the Children's Parade in Dallas. thanks to our sweet Aunt Genny. So. Much. Fun!!!! Just cold enough to wear winter stuff and make it feel like Christmas.
does it get any more precious? nope.
about to start the futile process. should've just poured the candy in their mouths and been done with it!

Lots of great food and plenty of chattin' it up. A great end to a perfect weekend!
