For some reason, the last post wouldn't let all of the text load, so I moved the rest of the story here.
I also did a lot of yard work. It was not as impressive as the kitchen to look at but since the previous owners weren't yard people, the landscaping left a little to be desired and the soil was like concrete. This is the pile of brush I cut down with my tender little hands. It looks a lot smaller than it felt, i mean, was.
This area was completely filled with shrubs and brush.
The next weekend, Meg and I went down without Kenny to clean up grout dust from the tile removal, paint cabinet boxes, ceiling and walls and do some more planting.
All this fun is done without furniture, tv, internet (!) and sleeping on air mattresses and eating outside (we brought patio furniture down the first trip).
Kenny and I went down later a couple of weeks later to deliver appliances, plant even MORE flowers and measure for tile and counter tops. Stay tuned for the next installment.
