I've been waiting to do a nursery reveal because I meant to do it with the baby. As I was told by one of Meg's friends today (thanks Jenn), no one will care about the nursery if I'm posting about the baby. Good point. The first few shots are from the nursery in WA. The plan was to go gender neutral and use it with all the kids. Yeah, right. The bed and bookshelf are the same, as is the dresser. The dresser was used as a changing table then, but not now.
We used none of the fabrics from the previous nursery. This time we used 3 prints and a red solid. The print has a vintage children's theme on 2 of them and dots on the 3rd. We redid 2 chairs, made a bed skirt, drapes and a book sling.
This is the chair that I reupholstered last week. Behind it is a book sling I made for the wall.
This is the changing table/old pediatrician scale I got at a flea market. Above is a mobile I made with a vintage book. I plan on adding a few more things, but I haven't finished them yet. The hamper is something I found in Canton years ago and recovered with one of the prints.
We repainted this armoire that I got from a friend (If you only loaned it to me, Phyllis, I'm sorry) and we painted white. I made the wreath with vintage book pages. I made the rosettes, dipped them in wax and hot glued them on to the frame I made from foam core. It took hours. My son called me later asking me if I knew that the word "pussy" was very visible on several leaves I had made from the pages. Apparently the story was about a gray kitty. Who knew you had to be careful when using vintage school books?
I made this wall hanging for the previous nursery but it fit the theme so we used it again. The 2nd on is the one I made on my Pinterest day.
Memaw picked up this chair at a resale shop and we redid it so I would have a place to sleep. It has a twin bed in it. I love the way it turned out, but wish I had added more color. I did the piping with one of the prints but it doesn't really show. I'm gonna have to add some pillows.
A close up of the bed skirt. It's really just 3 pieces of fabric that's gathered up and bound with a bias tape that I made. It's attached with velco to the mattress frame so I can lengthen or shorten it as needed.
This "M" is from the top of their wedding cake.
I promise, the next time I post, it will be about a NEW BABY!
