Almost Done

Last weekend brought us almost to the end of our renovation. Everything works and is in place. We just have to hook up the drain and have a couple of cabinet doors made. The weekend was made more exciting because the whole family came, including both dogs, and Reid getting a tummy bug and puking everywhere.

Yea! Floors are finished!!!

Saturday I waxed and buffed the counters put all the cabinet doors back on. Sunday I did the taping and bedding of the new walls and textured them. While Meg painted them, I cut and put in the baseboards. I have severe spatial/math-y issues and mitering the corners REALLY challenged me. I mean really really. The big saw gave me the woolies, too. Hard to interpret without my fingers!

Saturday is the official move day. She and I will take their cars down, junking along the way. Kenny will be come down the next day with the rest of the Texas stuff. We should be able to finish the painting, plumbing and baseboards by Monday. Kenny will come back but I'm not leaving until later. The Seattle movers come on the 8th and we should have the house set up for Eddie's return on the11th or 12th. Kenny will come back on the 11th to welcome Eddie home. After that *sob* I think I'll have to come home...alone.
