The Trip: Day .5

This picture is my symbol of summer. For quite a few years, the minute school is out, I am too. Out of Dodge, that is. In this 1 suitcase are the clothes and stuff that Kenny and I need for 11 days, 7 states and more fun than we'll probably be able to bear. I pack light because I hate to keep up with luggage and after years of flying standby, you learn to fit as much into 1 bag as possible.

This is day .5 because the first half was spent working. As soon as we were done and things were packed, I was out the door. The flight was uneventful, and before long, I was in the Pacific Northwest where the temps were about 45 degrees cooler than they were at home. I was COLD.
Reid was so happy to see his Mamie and I think he tried to sign my name (but only because I'm changing my sign name to a thumb in the mouth). We made a bee line the the famous food carts of Portland and ordered a fig, chevre, prosciutto and honey crepe and a turkey, brie, arugula and cranberry crepe. yum, yum, yum Reid thought it was good stuff, too.
