Meg spent 3 whole days alone (with Eddie making an appearance every evening around 7 after leaving the house at 4 in the morning). She decided that maybe it would be a good time to introduce Reid to all the wonderful-ness that is Texas. On Saturday after my parents left on Wed, she called and said that Sunday noon was the best time to fly in. We had discussed that itmight be a possibility later in the week, I didn't expect her to come so soon. The plan was for her to fly with as little as possible since she was coming without help. So at 5 Saturday, I was frantically trying to gather up a crib, carseat and all the other baby paraphernalia necessary to successfully host a 5 week old. If I ever doubt the presence of friends in my life, I promise to reflect back on this. Within a couple of hours, I had everything I needed, including all the clothes, diapers and wipes. I didn't even have to go to the store for anything.
I don't need to take the time to write about what fun we had. Here are several pictures of some of the friends Reid met and although it seems he slept thru most of it, I know he felt the love!
It was also Reid's first time to meet his Uncle B and all the family from his dad's side. It was a very emotional few days. The picture at the top of B with his nephew has got to be one of my all time favorites.

What you also see are some pictures of Reid with some of his ready made buddies, Parker, Jonathan and Leyton. Such a lucky boy to have such great friends at his early age!
This is Lori. This is the last time I will refer to her as Byron's "ex-girlfriend-from-high school's" mother (which she is) . She has graciously accepted a position as intern Grandma for Reid. I will now refer to her as such. She is also a great friend!
3 generations of friends. Phyllis and I went to the same high school (she was a little ahead of me, but I will kindly refrain from saying how much). Her daughter and Meg went to high school together and she was also the maid of honor in Meg's wedding. Now our boys are the same age. Isn't life fun?
Mycah and Reid have bonded over Dancing With the Stars. Please don't tell any of Reid's future friends that he watched it. It's a little embarrassing.
The next 3 pictures are of one of my all time favorite families and the boys for whom I Grandma interned for the past 5 years. If Reid grows up to be half as great as these 2, I'll be one proud grandma. Don't know if the little one has put together yet that he has been replaced as the youngest of the group. It could be a title he is ready to give up!
Uncle Mike, Aunt Cara and Chelsie. She is the only girl in our gang of families and so continues to kindly rule as princess of the bunch.
Everyone will be back for Christmas and a rip-roaring New Year's Eve Party, European Style. That means we do it based on their time and everyone has to leave by about 9:30 or 10. I'll update on that later!
