Highlights of Week 2

You can see the love on their faces, can't you? The thing that has pulled at my heartstings the most is the way they look at each other. I remember it, when your newborn looks at you so intently time stops. Watching that happen between your baby and her baby is even more moving. I can watch them watch each other forever. He looks at his Mamie, too, but I can already tell it's not the same. I'm ok with that.
Eddie went back to work today and Kenny went home last night , so it was just the 3 of us today. Last night, Eddie said he was sad about going back to work, especially since he's been out of town for about 1/2 the time Reid has been home. He then said that at least work was easier than taking care of a baby. Ha ha ha, I thought Meg's eyes were going to pop out of her head. He is a surgical resident who works 12-16 hrs a day, sometimes 36 hrs. straight at a job where he is at the bottom of the doctor food chain. Lots of hard work, I would think. Although he changes every dirty diaper when he's home, he hasn't been home a lot. He can't feed the baby and has had to vie for time holding the baby. He went on to say that is was the stress of not knowing what to do with a baby, not that he was doing so much work, that made it hard. Meg's eyes went back into their sockets.
Reid is going up to 3 1/2 hrs. between feedings and is eating like a champ. He doesn't think baths are so great, but he loves the cuddle that comes after, so he tries to bear it. He's staying awake more so that's fun and he rarely cries. I could say never, but he whimpers every time we change his diaper. The only time he's upset is if Meg eats something that disagrees with him. Brownies are now referred to as "frownies" because of the damage they did to Reid's tummy. Meg says she feels like she has turned the corner and is starting to feel more like herself.
I've finally posted some pictures on my website. I've had to self edit or all I would be doing is posting pictures. Here is a picture of Reid with his Papaw.
